About the Practical Mystic

I have learned most of the lessons of life the hard way-by experience. Along the way I have been a hospice nurse, counselor, pastor, mother and spiritual director. I’ve known success and failure, divorce and recovery, single parenting and co-parenting, chronic illness and great health, feeling stuck and being freed. I am by nature a change agent and a believer in the inherent goodness of the human experience. I consider it a great honor to be a partner in the unveiling of the Light that is meant to be within each person.

Rev. Peg French

Mission Statement

To provide a forum to encourage those on a spiritual path of Christ-centered mysticism.

My Core Values

  • Integrity: our outer life is an accurate reflection of our inner reality
  • Radical honesty: truth sets us free; illusions imprison the soul
  • Embracing paradox: wisdom is in the apparent contradictions
  • Authentic Spiritual Experience: a relationship with God has to be experienced for oneself, it cannot be inherited
  • Soul Freedom: an individuals soul work is both self directed and God inspired
  • Joy: humor is evidence of God’s grace. Life is meant to be enjoyed in all abundance.

My Bedrock Beliefs

  • The inherent goodness and worth of all creation “And it was very good.” Genesis 1:31
  • The impetus for growth is stronger than desire for death “All creation groans as if in childbirth to see the fulfillment of the children of God” Romans 8:22
  • Each life is an essential part of an ultimate reality that we will both never completely comprehend and with which we must experience connectivity. “For God so loved the world” John 3:16
  • All is One. At all times there is one intelligence calling us back home to essential oneness. “In the beginning was the Word” John 1:1
  • Grace is the ultimate purpose of life, both to receive and to give. “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28
  • Love is the motivation of the Soul to which we all belong. “God is love, and those who abide in love, abide in God and God abides in them” I John 4:16

Vision

Persons will be awakened to the purposefulness of their lives, able to know God’s voice within and order their lives according to this inner direction.
